  • The Excel file must include either the Colart product codes or the barcodes plus the quantity you want to order of each item in single units.
  • The site will round your order up to the nearest multiple order quantity (MOQ) for each SKU ordered.
  • Our checkout supports a maximum of 5000 different items at a time.
  • Please make sure that in your Excel document the data format of the Product Code column is Text. Changing it to other formats might lead to an incorrect interpretation of input value for codes with leading zeros. For example, 0301346 will be 301346, and it would be another product than you expected.

Our brands include Winsor & Newton, Liquitex, Snazaroo and Le Franc Bourgeois, to name a few and the oldest of which was founded some 300 years ago. We offer more than 5000 quality fine art products to customers in the UK and globally. Within the education sector, we supply art materials for secondary education, higher education schools and colleges, universities and education wholesalers.

    Founded in 1832 by William Winsor and Henry Newton, Winsor & Newton is a leading brand of fine art materials.  With a name synonymous with quality, and values that are committed to the pursuit of perfection, Winsor & Newton offers a wide range of fine art products, including acrylics, oils, watercolour, gouache, inks, brushes, canvases, papers, graphite and coloured pencils, markers, and charcoals.
    Established in the USA in 1955, Liquitex created the world's first commercial water-based artists' acrylic colour. The name is an amalgamation of the words “Liquid” and “Texture” and true to its name the brand specialises in the intermix ability of different types of liquid acrylic colour with gloss, matt and texture mediums, which can be applied to a variety of surfaces. 
    Founded in 1989, Snazaroo is a skin-friendly water-based face and body paint that is made in the UK to the highest quality standards. Face and body painting encourages creativity and is ideal for school events such as plays and fundraisers. With a broad selection of products from single colours to complete kits, online how-to guides, tools and special effects the range is always evolving.
    In 1794, Nicolas Jacques Conté developed the modern graphite lead from a mixture of clay and graphite, making it finally possible to create different degrees of hardness. The Conté à Paris range is today known for its wide variety of colour sketching Carrés, sketching pencils, pastel pencils, charcoals, and fixatives. The high pigmentation and purity of the colours make it a favourite with artists.
    Founded in 1720, Lefranc & Bourgeois is one of the world’s oldest fine art brands.   For three centuries, Lefranc Bourgeois has perfected the manufacture of fine art oil, water and more recently acrylic colour paints.  Lefranc & Bourgeois understand every stage of artist development, from the schoolroom to the professional and have the fine art paints and materials to support them on their journey.
    Other brands from Colart include: Inscribe Gallery pastels, Slater Harrison mountboard and papers, unbranded easels, and Viviva Colours​.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    How do I open an account?

    It is easy to open an account. Just complete the contact form above and we’ll be in touch and send new account application forms by email. Simply complete and return these and once your account is set up, we will email you your new account details and a username and password to allow you to log in and use our online ordering portal.

    How long does it take to open an account?

    Usually no more than 2 working days. However, we’ll contact you by phone or email should we have any questions or problems concerning your application.

    Is it possible to order without a trade account?

    Not from our trade site, but we do offer a direct-to-consumer e-commerce site for some of our brands (Winsor & Newton, Snazaroo), but you will only be able to order across all of our brands and get trade prices with a trade account.

    How do I place an order?

    We have made online ordering quick, easy, and secure. Just log in to your account and add products to the shopping basket as you would on a regular e-commerce website. Alternatively, if you prefer to use our product codes or bar codes you can upload a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet containing the codes and quantity of each item you need. You’ll need a trade account to order, you can apply for one using the contact form above.

    Who do I contact if I have a product query or need advice?

    Once your account has been approved, you will be assigned a Regional Sales Manager who will assist can assist you with any queries and offer advice on product selections and suitability. The Regional Sales Manager can also prepare a basket of suggested products for you to review and when you are happy you can place your order.

    What price will I be charged for my order?

    Once you have completed the contact form above, we’ll review your application and let you know the discount off the RRP ex. VAT that we can offer to you. Once you are registered and login into the portal the prices displayed are the RRPs. Ex. VAT and your discount will be applied when the order is confirmed to you by the sales office after the order has been submitted.

    Do you have a catalogue?

    Yes, for sustainability reasons we prefer where possible to offer our customer a pdf version of the catalogue which you can download from here. When you register for an account, you can request a printed version of the catalogue from the assigned Regional Sales Manager.

    Are orders sent carriage paid?

    Yes, orders are sent carriage paid but there is a minimum spend of £165.00 at cost price ex. VAT to qualify.

    Do you offer credit accounts?

    Yes, the first 3 orders are supplied of a proforma basis after which a credit account can be requested subject to checks and approval by our credit checking agency.
